Lion-hearted Christophe Barriere-Varju wraps up 2010 Dakar Rally

kiss_121Another epic Dakar Rally journey ends. With the support of Motorcycling Australia and Hyundai, Australia’s Christophe Barriere-Varju won the hearts of worldwide fans by completing the 2010 Dakar Rally as a privateer racing and taking care of his own mechanics every night on his KTM motorcycle, purchased from KTM Austria.

In a race deemed the most dangerous motorsport event in the world, competitors arm themselves with huge teams of mechanics and assistants – but not for Barriere-Varju.
 

2011 Dakar location revealed? Suspense continues

logo_dakar_2011_question_redThe work of Gabriel Ruiz-Tagle by Chiledeportes began. On Monday he met for more than two hours with the directors of ASO, the company that organises the Dakar.

The French idea was to reach an agreement, at least in words, to ensure the third edition of the race in South America, work for which they work against time at the moment - as usually next year's decision past February never happened.

   

2011 Dakar location becomes problematic

logo_dakar_2011_question_redSo far, the ASO - organizers of the Dakar rally - which has not yet released a decision on where to take place in 2011 edition of the Dakar. This delay is due to be multiple factors, but recently a succession of events will eventually have complicated the life of Etienne Lavigne and his companions.
